Bidwells are currently seeking to recruit a Trainee Finance Clerk for their office in Perth. They are seeking talented individuals who have a keen interest in finance and looking to kick start their careers in this field.  They would be willing to take on an apprentice, and pay for your study, or take on someone who didn’t want to pursue qualifications in this field for the time being

Main responsibilities:

Desired skills: You will be proactive, outgoing with a ‘can do’ attitude and be comfortable using your judgement to deal with competing priorities. You will be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels, both verbally and with a high standard of written English, and be someone who thrives under pressure, and enjoys working to tight deadlines.

A genuine interest in taking up a career in finance is a must! This will be reflected in the subjects you have studied, and grades achieved in subjects such as Maths/Accounting and English. Even thou some finance experience is desirable, this is not essential.

Benefits: In return you will receive a salary of between £11,500-£12,000 with some excellent benefits including private medical cover, 25 days holiday (and we are shut over Christmas so this is a big benefit!), up to 8% contributory pension, discretionary bonus and clothing allowance, and discounts from major retailers, However, what we feel is our biggest benefit is the fact that we work in an agile and flexible, modern environment where you will very much feel part of the team from day one.

Please email CV’s to gail.croll@bidwells.co.uk or post to Gail Croll – Accounts Manager, Bidwells LLP, Broxden House, Lamberkine Drive, Perth, PH1 1RA.

Network Rail

Our railway lines are the economic arteries of our nation where every day, more than 4.6 million journeys are made in the UK. Network Rail owns, operates and develops Britain’s railway infrastructure – that’s 20,000 miles of track, 30,000 bridges, tunnels and viaducts, and thousands of signals, level crossings and stations. Our role is to deliver a safe and reliable railway for Britain.

The number of passenger journeys undertaken on Britain’s railways has doubled over the past 20 years. We help the railway network to grow and improve in response to that tremendous growth and demand – and our apprentices are at the heart of that work.

Network Rail is investing more in engineering projects than any other UK organisation.

We carefully manage and deliver thousands of projects every year as part of the multi-billion-pound Railway Upgrade Plan – it’s an exciting place to be and offers real opportunity to make a difference through contributing to the biggest transformation project on the rail network since the change from coal to diesel.

As an engineering apprentice with Network Rail, you’ll have three amazing years on the scheme with the first phase of the scheme being spent living and learning at one of our dedicated training centres; Westwood and HMS Sultan. Following that, you’ll join a depot close to home where you’ll get out an about on the network specialising in telecoms, distribution & plant, overhead lines, signalling, track or off-track.

What we’re looking for

Quite simply, we’re looking for enthusiastic people with the vision to be future leaders for our workforce.

Right now, you’ll be passionate about engineering and committed to further study and learning to help you achieve your goal of becoming an engineer. It’s critical that our apprentices are safety aware, with a strong attention to detail and good problem-solving skills. You’ll be happy to listen and learn from others and work within a team, but you’ll also have the confidence to communicate your own ideas.

The Advanced apprenticeship scheme at Network Rail is open to anyone who will be aged 18 on or before 29th September 2020. There’s no upper age limit.

In order to be eligible for the scheme you’ll need the following academic qualifications:

*subject to change

During your residential training phase, we’ll pay for your accommodation, three meals a day, your work clothing and personal safety equipment.

On top of all this, you’ll get 28 days holiday, plus bank holidays and access to many company benefits such as a cycle to work scheme, discounts on phone and gym memberships and other retailer discounts including cinema tickets and various places eat!
